VENUS, the Roman goddess of beauty and love, has lent her name to a new business in Elgin's Tyock Business Center.
An appropriate name indeed for a salon created out of friendship and devoted to the pursuit of beauty!

Venus Hair & Beauty is a dream comes true for local stylist Lynn Reid.
Lynn, who has been in hairdressing for 17 years, was most recently manageress of another local salon.
There she gathered around her a team of hair and beauty professionals who were known to her not only as excellent in their fields, but also as personal friends.
So when the opportunity arose for Lynn to fulfill her lifelong ambition of start up in business on her own account, what could be more natural than that her friends should want to join her?

Having secured premises in Tyock Business Center, Grampian Road, Lynn set about transforming them from a basic industrial unit into a salon worthy of the goddess' name.
Aberdeen art student Judith Michien was specially commissioned to design and paint a mural depicting Venus on the front of the salon's reception desk, and the Roman theme incorporating pillars and so on has been continued throughout the building.
There are actually three salons within the one.

The hair salon itself enjoys the benefit of natural daylight through a window above eye-level - an important consideration when you want to see the true effect of hair colourants, yet wish to preserve some privacy.
Hair products used here will include names such as Matrix, and Lanza, with colours by Wella. In the nail salon, manicures and pedicures will be on offer, as well as the Enhancements.
The beauty salon boasts a shower, which should prove especially useful after Thalgo Treatments - a very exclusive, seaweed-based product beneficial to the skin.
Other treatments available will include a range of Facials, Electrolysis, Waxing, Eyebrow and Lash Tinting, Reflexology and Aromatherapy Massage.
The decor throughout Venus Hair & Beauty is warrn and welcoming and Lynn hopes customers, established and new, will feel free to drop in for a chat.
Ample car parking is available without the frustratjons of trying to jockey for a space in town.

Facial Treatments
Each of the following luxurious treatments is uniquely prescribed and tailor-made by your Therapists, to suit your specific skin type, giving optimum results every time.

Marine Facial 
(Dull/lifeless skin) A excellent pre-scription treatment, designed to boost and energise dull, lifeless skin, helping to restore your skin's natural radiance. 11/4 hours.

Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils, the properties of which can assist the body's natural healing  process.  A special type massage is carried out using essential oils, to achieve maximumefffect.


Reflexology
Using special pressure and massage techniques on reflex points of the feet. This treatment helps to relieve pain, thereby encouraging the body to return to optimum health.
Treatments

Marine Collagen Facial
(Anti-ageing)  An  intensive,  anti-ageing treatment to restore the suppleness of the skin's surface with a visable difference in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 

Electrolysis
Electrolysis is the permanent method of hair removal  using  a  mild  electrial current, resulting in the destruction of the hair follicle. With continuous treatment, it will eventually destroy the follicle's ability to produce a new hair.
